Biography
Ross van Reenen has been a business and management consultant for more than 25 years and has consulted for top listed companies in South Africa and Europe. Having obtained his MBA with distinction, he was awarded an Honorary Masters Merit Award in 2006 and an International Honorary Doctorate in 2009 for his groundbreaking studies on the career development of professional rugby players. Ross was also the associate editor of various business and educational magazines and has had more than 250 academic and business articles published in academic journals and business magazines.
He is one of only three Free State rugby players who holds double Springbok colours, was a silver medallist at the World Life-Saving Championships in Barcelona in 1974 and received senior provincial colours in six different sports. Ross played in 62 Currie Cup matches (including four Currie Cup finals) for Free State, was a member of the winning Currie Cup team in 1976 and in that same year played against the touring All Blacks. He has SA Games colours for the triathlon, has done the gruelling Iron Man twice and has successfully completed 15 Cape Argus Cycle Tours. He is currently the Group MD at Thethani Group of Companies.
